We have a map & Beirut Design Week!

Apologies for the silence but we have been busy working away and participatory processes have been time consuming! The good news is that we have a map!

So here is an update on some of the things we have been up to:

– We now have the map that has been revised by many. Producing something like this for a community of 22,000 people has meant having to involve many in it, and having many levels of checks and feedbacks. It has been time consuming but the team and many in the camp are really excited about it. We are now printing it and figuring with the scouts in the camp how to have this as a sign at the entrance of the camp.

– One of the exciting news was that the 2018 Beirut Design Week in June was dedicated to innovative and participatory processes in design and the urban fabric. It was a real honour to have the map and our work featured in the main exhibition of the Beirut Design Week. For the team, the recognition of the work was amazing as we had lots of visitors and people asking us questions, and for the older members of the team, being recognised and exhibited at Beit Beirut was full of significance.
